On September 10, 2025, HAL signs Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) Technology Transfer Agreement with ISRO, IN-SPACe, and NSIL to indigenise, produce, and commercialise SSL V for satellites under 500 kg.
On August 28, 2025, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited neared a Rs. 8,569 crore (US$ 1 billion) deal with General Electric for 113 F404-IN20 engines for the LCA Mk1A, building on a 2021 contract for 99 engines.
Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd’s order book position is expected to go up to Rs. 2.5 lakh crore (US$ 29.2 billion) in FY26. The major deals include the supply of 97 LCA Tejas Mk-1A fighters, 156 light combat helicopters (LCH) and the acquisition as well as upgrades of SU-30 MKI jets.

In December 2023, Mr. Giridhar Aramane, the Defence Secretary, unveiled a new design and test facility at HAL's Aero Engine Research and Development Centre (AERDC) in Bengaluru. The AERDC is currently involved in the design and development of several new engines including two strategic engines — Hindustan Turbo Fan Engine (HTFE) - 25 for powering trainers, UAV’s, twin engine small fighter aircraft or regional jets and Hindustan Turbo Shaft Engine (HTSE) - 1200 for powering light and medium weight helicopters.
In November 2023, AL and Airbus signed a contract for establishing MRO facilities for A-320 family of aircraft during a function in New Delhi.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) signed a contract for the co-development and co-production of the Long Range Dual Band Infra-Red Search and Track System (IRST) for the Su-30 MKI under the MAKE-II procedure of Defence Acquisition Procedure (DAP) 2020 as a part of the Make in India initiative.

In September 2021, HAL is awaiting government approval for funding of >Rs. 700 crore (US$ 94.79 million) to develop an indigenous High-altitude Pseudo Satellite (HAPS). This project is a part of the drone warfare programme being carried out for the defence forces.
In September 2021, HAL and Rolls-Royce have signed an agreement for Make-in-India Adour engine parts to support Rolls-Royce's international defence customer base. Through this partnership, Rolls-Royce aims to strengthen the ecosystem for Adour engines in India by building on HAL’s existing capabilities for manufacturing and supporting the Adour engines for Indian customers over several decades.
In August 2021, HAL placed an order for 99 F404-GE-IN20 engines and support services—worth US$ 716 million (Rs. 5,375 crore)—with GE Aviation (USA) to power the Tejas Light Combat Aircraft.
In August 2021, HAL successfully carried out the Ground Run and Low-speed Taxi Trials (LSTT) of the Hindustan-228 (VT-KNR) aircraft on August 15, 2021, for Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) ‘Type Certification’. The event was part of the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence Day celebrations at HAL’s Kanpur facility.
In June 2021, three Advanced Light Helicopters (ALHs) produced by HAL were inducted into the Indian Coast Guard, boosting the ALH Mk-III Coast Guard programme.
